I took some classes to learn surfing at one of the beaches on Buzio.

The temple of the Incas is hidden in the Andes, in Peru.  Due to its location, the Inca Empire was not destroyed at the Spanish conquest. I was not able to cover the entire 75 acres of Machu Picchu as there was so much mystery and history that makes this tourist spot – a must-see place when in South America. Make sure you include it in your itinerary.

My trip to South America would not be complete without a visit to the Amazon Jungles. This is the largest rainforest in the world.  Many areas of the Amazon are still untouched and this jungle is home to nearly 3,000 species of fish, 40,000 various species of plants, 2.5 million insects, 427 mammals and 428 amphibians.

Manuas Brazil lies to the north of the Amazon on the Brazilian side and explorations generally start from this city.  Being a nature lover, I could not wait to get to Manaus Brazil and being my journey through the flora and fauna of this amazing jungle.

The point of visit to the Amazon jungle is Iquitos on the Peruvian side and can only be reached by air or boat.  The lodges and villages that are available in Iquitos are surrounded by rivers and therefore easily accessible. This side of the Amazon can be reached from Puerto Maldonado and Manu as well.

My holiday to South America was very exciting and full of adventures as I travelled from Peru to Brazil to explore the jungles, climbed mountains and relaxed on many beaches and I can assure you that I was not disappointed.
