Cruises are a wonderful holiday experience, and quite different from most types of holiday where you stay in one hotel and experience only one location. With a cruise, your ship is your hotel, and often, as you sleep, you will travel from place to place waking up each morning with different views and new things to see and do.
When you cruise to Florida, a large part of the cruise is on the open water, so you have plenty of time to enjoy all the facilities available to you on your chosen cruise ship. There’s no chance of being bored however as there is always plenty to do on board a cruise ship, and you’re free to join in with activities or not as you choose. Lying back in a sun lounger watching the water roll by is perfectly acceptable too.
You’ll board your ship in England – Southampton is one of the main ports for cruise ships leaving the UK, and from this point your holiday begins. No transfers, no waiting for planes to take off or land, no cramped seating. Instead, you can settle straight in to your cabin, and get settled because your holiday has begun.
Although most of your family cruise to Florida is open water, there are still things to see, you’ll sail past parts of Europe and often get the chance to do a little sight seeing and shopping in somewhere like France or Spain. Then when you’re out on the open waters, the chances of seeing whales and other ocean life becomes greater.
There are obviously a number of different places that your cruise ship might dock when you reach Florida, Miami is one of them, and this is a city that is pretty spectacular to view as you sail in. Built right on the beaches, it’s a vibrant place that is alive with people and entertainment.
Florida as a destination is somewhere pretty special, lying at the south east of the USA, Florida offers visitors many different things. Orlando with its theme parks is very family oriented, there are so many different entertainments to enjoy, that you could spend a very long time trying to take them all in. Miami is fantastic if you want sun, sand and plenty of sea to spend your time in, and whether it’s swimming, surfing or some other form of water sports there is lots of an aquatic nature here to keep you busy and entertained. Key west, and the space coast offer two more exciting areas of opportunity, and the everglades offer an excellent change of pace with Alligators and many interesting birds to be seen as well as the opportunity to skim the waters in an airboat. In fact, no matter where you land, there is pretty much something for everyone in this state.
