A lot of people try to take great photos while on the road and to do so they believe they need a really nice camera. They go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a big digital camera with features they don’t know how to use or probably will ever use. It ends up being a waste. They still take bad photos. Why? Because the camera you use is only part of the equation, and a small one at that. You can take great travel photos with a small point and click digital camera. The most important part of taking good photos is you. You can take good photos. It requires patience and a good eye. You need to know how to frame photos, how to wait for good lighting, when the best time of the day is. You need to experiment with different settings on the same picture. When I go out with my little cheap digital camera, I take lots of photos- hundreds. I probably keep a dozen but those dozen are great quality. Train yourself to take good photos and no matter what camera you have, you’ll find that the next time you travel, you are taking good pictures. You don’t need a fancy camera when a small cheap one will do.
